He is the founder and Chairman of one of the largest real estate companies in the world. Hussain Sajwani was born in 1953 in the United Emirates. As a young boy, he helped his father who was a businessman to sell items in his shop which included shirts, watchs, and other items exported from China. Hussain developed a keen interest in business. After his high school graduation, he was among the lucky individuals who got an academic scholarship to study in the United States of America. He graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering and Economics in University of washington.
After his graduation, Hussain Sajwani went back to his home nation. In Dubai, he got an opportunity to serve at Abu Dhabi Gas Industries which is an affiliate of GASCO. Mr. Sujawani did not stay at Abu Dhabi Gas Industries for long instead two years later he established his venture in the food and catering industry. With the knowledge and experience, he had gained he was able to grow the food firm. A company which had a humble beginning would finally be the main distributor of food and catering services to organizations including 5-star hotels located both on-shore and off-shore, construction campsites, educational institutes, as well as the United States military.
Hussain Sajwani is a go-getter and when Dubai opened up the property markets he took advantage of the chance and he was among the pioneers of the development and the real estate sector in the country. In 2002 Hussain Sajwani established DAMAC Properties. Ever since the creation of the firm it has expanded to be one of the largest development organizations not only in the Middle East but also in the world. Hussain Sajwani’s skills in finance, sales and marketing have been of a great help to the expansion of the real estate company. DAMAC Properties has developed properties in various countries and cities including Abu Dhabi, London, Doha, Beirut, and Dubai among others. Hussain and his construction company have also joined with other development firms including Donald Trump Organization to construct a golf course estate. Through his foundation DAMAC Foundation he is working with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s to teach the community about the importance of being empowered through education and gaining skills.
