How Luke Lazarus Puts His Clients on the Road to Success

Written by

A person can sum up his or her values in one, simple quote. The one Luke Lazarus uses for this purpose is the quote that says, “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking.” This is perfect for him because he never wastes a minute. Another old English saying says that “time waits for no one,” and Luke Lazarus’ career shows us that this has been true for him.

Luke Lazarus is a business consultant, and his clients are the owners of startup companies. His job has been to help Australia’s CEOs “identify, define and address the matters that contribute to business success.” Luke Lazarus has the experience to do this because he spent the last 20 years helping the country’s business leaders set priorities, clarify contributing factors and develop business plans.

How do you define business essentials?

The business plan is the starting point that takes a business in the direction of its vision as it illuminates its weaknesses, but it gives it a financial model that will support the endeavor. I have to be able to tell a story with the business plan so that the company’s investors and partners will see that it would benefit them as well as the customers and the employees. I believe that the product or brand will not succeed unless customers can see that the product is equal to the story and that the story can continue to grow with the product if the business plan has been established well in the beginning.

How do you make your presentations to interested investors?

The story is instrumental in helping me present new projects to potential investors. I take the business plan into startup boardrooms and draw the people in to build up financial support. These stories allow board members to personally see how they will relate to the product at hand.

How do you research your markets?

I spend time studying the markets and what is influencing them. Then, I can discuss the variables that I discovered with my clients before we launch their new products. I can help my clients see what they can expect from their customers and the competition when I know how a scalable business model is going to react in the e-commerce sector.

What do you do to stay productive?

I start every day by meditating for 15 minutes. Then, I can focus on making every second count by performing as many activities at once as possible. I am always aware of what time it is. It doesn’t matter how much time a client needs. I will adapt my day towards meeting those needs. I organize my day and stick to that plan, but I also write it all down so that I can ensure that everything gets done.
